The HCM City-Trung Luong Highway is to link HCM City with Tien Giang and other provinces in the Mekong Delta. This is a part of the HCM City-Can Tho Highway route.
The first point is Dem market, Tan Tuc commune, Binh Chanh district, HCMC and the end point is Than Cuu Nghia, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province.
This 61.9 km route consists of a highway system 39.8 km long and a linking route 22.1 km long.
The total investment initially approved is VND 6,550 billion and then adjust to VND 9,880 billion. This is the first highway route designed and constructed by Vietnam. It is expected to construct in 36 months and completed in 2008.
In the Stage 1, the highway route 24.5 meter wide with 4 lanes for car’s speed up to 120 km/h and two lanes to stop in emergency cases. Then the highway will be expanded to 42.5 meters.
Cienco 5 is in charge of 7 contracts in the package IV, including 2.8 km viaduct and 6 km road. The total value is more than VND 700 billion.
